Yay! for hubbies that cook~ I remember when my husband and I were dating. At the time, we both lived in SE Michigan. He invited me over to dinner one chilly fall evening. That night he served me a delicious calzone he had made. “Ahhhh…. he cooks!” I said to myself…an added bonus! Now, 10+ years later & two kids, I am happy to say… he still cooks for me!
My grand daughter had a dinosaur birthday party. How cool is that? Lots of lizards and turtles and snakes made their way to the back yard to visit the kids so they could learn a little about our neighbors of the creepy crawly sort. Jurassic Parties did a great job. All the kids loved it. Grandma hung out in the kitchen with a quick peek once in a while. I had to guard the food, after all.
It’s still January and I’m still in southern California. Sure, it’s rainy today and a bit cooler, but….I can hardly believe it’s winter. I’ll be finding out soon enough when I return to the deep freeze of the Midwest. So, going to a farmers’ market ….an open air market…is pure bliss for me. And guess what I found. At the Anaheim market there was a farmer selling baby vegetables. They have the “cute factor”

Making flatbreads may be my next obsession. There are hundreds of varieties…many more to ponder in the near future. I love bread so much, I really try not to make it. With a hot crusty loaf coming out of my oven, I’m driven to eating it non-stop until it’s gone. As that doesn’t do my waistline any good, I just don’t make bread. It’s as simple as that.
